About Us

The Coimbatore district electrical traders association (CODETA) was formed 1969 with 27 members under the name 'The electrical traders association, Coimbatore'. Subsequently in the year 1985 the name was changed to Coimbatore district electrical traders association (CODETA). This association, which celebrated its silver jubilee in 1994, as a grown in numbers and today, it is home to 454 members.

CODETA's main aim is to develop electrical trade in Coimbatore whilst promoting and protecting the interest of its members. CODETA also identifies problems phased by the trading community and takes initiative to resolve these problems with guidance of the concerned authorities.

CODETA also educate members about various aspects of government regulations, commercial taxes, labour acts and other issues relating to electrical trade. CODETA aims to establish a library containing books publications relating to electrical products and the usage. It also organizes exhibitions to spread awareness about products among traders, industrialists, educationalists of various institutions and the general public.

In 2001 CODETA conducted its own exhibition and since 2013 it is been collaborating with Codissia to conduct Elektrotec – an electrical& industrial electronics trade fair.

FUTURE PLANS AND ASPIRATIONS:

Our dream is to educate the public, various institutions and industries about the method of saving electricity. We also plan to constantly update the consumers about the new, innovative and cost-efficient products prevalent in the market and create awareness amongst them for a greener, pollution-free tomorrow.

CSR

"Successful people have a social responsibility to make the world a better place and not just take from it."- Carrie underwood. CODETA truly exemplifies this. No matter how small or big an organization is, each of them need to rise up to their respective corporate social responsibility. It is in lieu of the same that CODETA publish diaries every year and makes it available to members at a subsidized cost. The income generated through advertisements in the diaries, as well as interest derived from the association's fixes deposit will be help used to help the under privileged for their medical expenses, and to support their educational needs, etc.

CODETA is a member of the federation of all India electrical traders associations. The federation of Electricals, Electronics and Engineering traders association of Tamilnadu. The Indian chamber of commerce and industry- Coimbatore and, federation of trade association Coimbatore.
